Folk sounds for November!

We’ve got a busy few weeks coming up this month with a distinctly folky voice to our programming!

Our month starts on 5th of November, with the sold out Staves show at St George’s Church. If you missed out on tickets we hope you’re out enjoying a bonfire and some mulled wine!

Later that week we’ve got the Dylan Project, with members of Fairport Convention playing the songs of Bob Dylan. A real treat for traditional folk fans, with excellent musicianship and an extensive catalogue of some of the best songs ever written to chose their set list from!

11th November sees the return of Laura Veirs to Brighton. Signed to Bella Union, this Portland native is touring her 9th full length record, the powerful, idiosyncratic and dark ‘Warp and Weft’, recorded when 8 months pregnant and capturing the intensity of motherhood, love and violence.

13th of November is a double hitter- at Komedia we have Colin Hay, and at Proud Cabaret we have Nick Mulvey. As the lead singer of Men at Work, Colin Hay is one of Australia’s best known musical exports. Here he plays a mix of M.A.W. songs and solo material and is sure to put on an outstanding show. Nick Mulvey (ex Portico Quartet) offers slightly more cerebral delights over in Kemptown. Signed to Communion Records, this will be an exciting chance to hear Mulvey’s new solo material in an intimate setting.

Let us know which shows you’re coming along to! Tickets available at www.ticketweb.co.uk/meltingvinyl
