Videos, voting, new shows and half price tickets right this way!

Loads of treats from us at Melting Vinyl HQ today, we don’t know where to start!

Okay. Lets start with our 3 favourite sisters. The Staves release their well awaited album Dead & Born & Grown on November 12th. Now, if you haven’t seen The Staves before, you should. Not only do they have superb, dream-like harmonies to melt into, but they also have a brilliant new video for their single Tongue Behind My Teeth which you can have a look at here. Tickets are flying out for their Brighton show right now, so get yours quick and don’t miss out – their performances are really quite something special and we are thrilled to have them for the second time this year, so buy yours now HERE!

Now that lovely chap who goes by the name of Dan Le Sac has had his new single Long Night Of Life featuring Merz put up for Steve Lamacq’s Rebel Playlist, which is obviously great news, but also needs votes! Voting takes 2 or 3 or 4 seconds and only a couple of clicks – the first one being here and the next being ‘Vote For Dan Le Sac’. To see this track live among many others with even more friends of his, Dan Le Sac‘s Brighton show at Coalition still has tickets available which you can purchase here. Happy voting!

Next we have a fantastic, exciting, thrilling announcement that’s we’re all understandably really excited for. The Charlatans’ legendary singer Tim Burgess will be performing at Coalition November 3rd! Now not only has he recently completed Telling Stories, an autobiography for Penguin Books, he’s launched the bold O Genesis record label, releasing a series of 7″ singles that reflects Burgess’ own diverse musical interests and his phenomenal crate-digging instincts. He brings us his new album Oh No I Love You on the 1st October which arguably features some of Burgess’ finest music to date. You’d be a complete fool to miss out on this one, tickets are on sale Friday 21st September so pop it in your diaries now!

This Tuesday we have the mighty Sub Pop’s Jaill at The Green Door Store and we have a special student offer for all you students! Have we all noticed how Brighton’s suddenly become crazy-busy as we welcome back (and welcome new) students to our lovely seaside city, and as students expect things on the cheap, we’ve decided to do exactly that…

… If you are infact a student, simply present your NUS/University/College/Any other forms of student ID to us on the door and you’ll only pay £4 to get in! To a Sub Pop show! Now that is exciting. Please note that this show is strictly over 18s with ID only so bring valid ID, too. Not just your student card.

For anyone who isn’t a student, tickets can be purchase on our website here!

And last but certainly not least, don’t forget that the ‘the finest songwriter of his generation’ hailed by the late, great John Peel will be performing a very special performance this Sunday at Proud Cabaret Brighton (That was Brighton Ballroom) it is of course the lovely James Yorkston. Here’s a video from his brilliant ‘Woozy With Cider’.
