The Staves Play St George’s Church This November!

Well we don’t know about you but we have had a very busy week (and a bit.) Last week we announced Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip (which by the way is selling super fast, if you want to go get your tickets now!) and now we’ve got two MORE shows for you!

Loved by Brighton’s Great Escape Festival and Radio 1, we bring you Coasts! The five-piece alternative band from Bristol signed to Tidal Records come to Brighton with their summery, upbeat alt-indie style to The Green Door Store on 31st of October, which is also Halloween. Spooky? Not so much. If you’re a fan of Bombay Bicycle Club and Foals you will be a fan of Coasts. Their new single ‘Oceans‘ is out now!

Our newest announcement that we delivered this morning, one that we are all very very excited about. Our favourite sisters in the world – that’s right! The Staves play a beautiful intimate show at the magical St George’s Church November 5th! After an absolute jam packed year with the release of their album ‘Dead, Born & Grown’ supporting Bon Iver, going off round America for their first US tour and closing Glastonbury this year with their mates Mumford And Sons (which if you haven’t seen, you MUST here!) The three sisters from Watford are back in Brighton, this time at the gorgeous St George’s Church. Tickets go on sale 9am Friday 26th July (tomorrow) from your usual favourite outlets. Get them quick, they will disappear before you know it1

To add to our busy week, we’ve just about recovered from the three shows we’ve had. Saturday was a sweaty fun mess at Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar with Two Gallants, who put on an brilliantly energetic show. Also on Saturday was one of our famous Towner collaborations with Corner House Club Night! Everyone dressed in their vintage finery, enjoyed swing dance lessons, bunting making, wind up DJing, Catalyst Club talking and of course the fabulous Radio City Theatre. Look our for the pictures on our Facebook soon!

On Tuesday we welcomed back Dark Dark Dark to The Blind Tiger Club. With consistently beautiful songs like Daydreaming, Who Needs Who, What I Needed to name a few, we absolutely loved them. Support from Lonesome Leash and Bella Feud was an absolute bonus to the show!

This week we are even busier! Tomorrow we’re off to Ashford for Charlatans legend Tim Burgess to warm us up ready for Create Festival on Sunday. Tim will be playing his solo album that came out last year, ‘Oh No I Love You’ but we’re sure he’ll chuck in some Charlatans stuff, too. Don’t forget Create Festival this Sunday at Victoria Park, Ashford is completely FREE! The full line up of acts for Create Festival can be found here.

Now unfortunately The Be Good Tanyas will be touring without Samantha. On September 3 of last year, Samantha was in a car accident, and due to the force of the impact, she sustained multiple injuries to her neck, back and shoulders, as well as a concussion. She has had to make the difficult decision not to return to touring and performing until she is fully recovered. With Samantha’s blessing, The Be Good Tanyas have continued to honour their 2013 tour commitments. To help Samantha with her huge medical costs and living expenses, her friends have set up a campaign to donate to; and have already raised an incredible $10,000. To donate or to read more, click here.
