Vive La France! Warm Up Shows with SPECIAL OFFER INSIDE!

Can you believe that our fifth Vive La France! festival is only 4 months away?! If you haven’t been to or even heard of Vive La France!, where have you been? In association with Bureau Export, welcomes to Brighton an impressive collection of French artists and labels for the fifth annual Vive La France! Festival for 2013. Making its home in the bohemian and cosmopolitan North Laines, various venues will provide outlets for an eclectic mix of explosive Electro-Pop, enchanting Chanson, ever popular performances from local French artists under the ‘French Connection’ banner as well as a hearty dose of French-infused World Music, Hip Hop, and Cinema; all guaranteed to impress both connoisseurs and newcomers to the scene.

Sound exciting? It is, and we can’t wait for January for all this to happen, which is why this October Melting Vinyl are bringing you THREE Vive La France! warm up shows!

On the 3rd of October we have the multi-instrumentalist one man band Chapelier Fou who will be returning to Brighton at The Blind Tiger Club! Mixing classical violin to a distinctive brand of sweet, quirky electronica, Chapelier Fou comes back to the UK after performances at Womad and The Great Escape to celebrate the release of his new album ‘Invisible’. The single L’eau Qui Dort from the album you can listen to here!

The 22nd of October we welcome the first ever French band to be signed to Domino, and Melting Vinyl favourites, Fránçois & The Atlas Mountains at Coalition! Drawing eclectic influences from chanson, indie, African and Middle Eastern sounds, they have been receiving much acclaim on both sides of the English channel, with their universally acclaimed album ‘E Volo Love’ and their performances at this year’s Great Escape were among the festival’s highlights. Their single ‘Edge of Town’ is the latest single from the band’s Domino debut album, and can be listened to here!

And finally on the 25th of October at The Green Door Store we welcome Zombie Zombie! Renowned for their innovative reinterpretations of classic horror soundtracks and taking inspiration from similarly boundary-breaking acts like Suicide, Goblin and Can, Zombie Zombie have nonetheless carved out a niche all of their own, catering to horror and sci-fi aficionados as well as fans of forward-thinking, experimental music. They explain it a bit better in an interview with Grand Crew here (don’t worry, it’s subtitled!) Theirs isn’t a grisly bandwagon that rolls through town too often, so make sure you don’t miss this opportunity to catch one of France’s most intriguing and original acts in their element.

With these shows around about £8/£8.50 each, we’re giving you a special offer of a 3 show limited ticket for just £15. That means you save £9.50, and everybody likes a good saving! This offer is only available from Resident or TicketWeb only so only shop there and please don’t miss out on this great saving, guaranteeing you a chance to see 3 of music’s brightest new talents in our fair city.
