Canadian folk troubadour, Aidan Knight returns with new album ‘Each Other’ (via Full Time Hobby)

Aidan Knight, the Victoria-based songwriter and namesake for Canadian experimental folk band, returns with a poignant new album ‘Each Other’

Each Other was recorded at the Bathouse Studio, just outside of Kingston and home to Millhaven Maximum Security Prison. Aidan’s band sequestered themselves in the studio for over two weeks with producer Marcus Paquin (The National, Local Natives, Stars). The band and Paquin were meticulous with each song, piecing together the raw energy of the live show along with the layered textures that could only be captured in the studio.

Having performed and recorded with The Zolas, Hannah Georgas, Dan Mangan, and We Are the City, Knight also helped establish the record label Adventure Boys Club, with founder Tyler Bancroft of the band Said The Whale.

Lyrically, Knight’s penchant for astute observations and personal reflections remains a compelling component of his songwriting. He creates a unique mood and atmosphere in his music, challenging yet comforting, steeped in melancholy but with a brittle optimism and ultimately a joy auditory experience for any true music fan.

“Knight goes deep within the psyche of a songwriter and performer in numbers that often veer into another person’s perspective.” – Exclaim
