Bill Laurance Project

Snarky Puppy founder-member and Grammy Award winning pianist Bill Laurance performs his unique blend of classical and jazz music, taken from the latest album Swift.

Bill Laurance is a pianist, keyboard player, composer, producer and arranger based in London. Trained at the University of Leeds, he has been working professionally since he was 14. He currently co-writes his own project THE FIX; an electronic duo and is an original member of the highly acclaimed Brooklyn based band Snarky Puppy. Laurance has also worked and performed with other established artists such as Morcheeba, Musiq Soul Child, Chris Potter, Lionel Loueke, The New Mastersounds, Miss Dynamite and Keith Allen.

Collaborating with Snarky Puppy’s own Michael League on bass and Robert ‘Sput’ Searight on drums, Bill picks up where his acclaimed debut Flint left off — pushing a deep groove under flowing classical melodies. They’re joined by members of the Metropole Orchestra, creating the epic soundscapes that appear on the album, it is a fascinating blend of classical and jazz styles, creating a sound that pushes genre defining boundaries.
