Melting Vinyl are thrilled to announce that jazz legend Courtney Pine will be coming to Komedia this February!
No one better embodies the dramatic transformation in the British Jazz scene over the past twenty years than Courtney Pine. The saxophonist led a generation of exciting and innovative musicians who have chosen to turn their talents to the demanding requirements of jazz music, in all its shapes and forms.
In 2013 with his latest project House of Legends which sees him return to the instrument he is best known for – the saxophone.
Deeply steeped in the traditions of the Caribbean, this very personal project sees Courtney in tremendous form, bringing together musicians from Africa, the Caribbean and Europe for an exhilarating mix of Merengue, Ska, Mento and Calypso as played through the lens (saxophone) of a UK born artist with proud Afro-Caribbean roots.
