DJ set by VCOADSR

Brighton’s very own bitbin brings together a selection of the finest artists for a full night of electronic music that will see performances spanning live ambient synth based collisions through to brutal but also melodic outputs. With live, audio-reactive visuals on the night, there will be performances by 4 groups utilising synths, drums machines, live vocals and a multi-array of instruments all awash with reverb and sonic delights. Expect performances on the night (no staring at laptops here). Performances on the night will be intersected by modular synthesis performer VCOADSR who’s semi-improvised live production harks to the new output by Simian Mobile Disco.

Bitbin
bitbin (aka Matthew Hodson) brings music from the UK’s electronic underbelly. bitbin’s impressive beat crunching and synthesiser drenched aesthetic has a reputation for providing a controlled fusion of both ambient and aggressive electronic music. His attention to sonic detail characterises his output and is a reflection of his involvement within the music industry which stretches back more than 10 years as a studio engineer and producer.

“His sound instantly recalls some of the classic Skam output, from the atmospheric chord changes you might expect to hear from Boards Of Canada’s bank of synths to Bola’s sinewy beats” – Boomkat.

Adolescent
Adolescent is the moniker of 23-year-old Alex Parish, paying homage in name to the early teenage years responsible for inspiring his unique sound and vision. Much of his initial thought process in production owes to a love of late 90s Trip-Hop and Hip-Hop, in particular Portishead’s seminal record ‘Dummy’. However it was Parish’s travelled adolescence, coupled with a photographic obsession that inspires the true essence of these carefully sculpted, ethereal and often euphoric masterpieces.

“His downtempo style is layered with majestic textures and heart-tugging tones but the most interesting aspect of Adolescent’s music is the way it conjures up a narrative through sound alone.” – Brighton Source

Pollen
Pollen is the new music venture of Brighton based Thom Hodkinson, Melodic in content, Thom’s desire is to create music which is personal and able to create a sense of nostalgia – one of the main drives in the song writing of Pollen – with an electronic blend of live vocals, guitar and synthesis.

Champion Fever
Improvised synths, effected guitars, loops, samples and old keyboards are layered with programmed drums to form tracks infused with the spontaneity of performance. Arrangements develop organically before being sculpted & mixed in the studio. Champion Fever’s (Steve Baker) output can therefore be somewhat unpredictable & varied but is rooted in experimentation without veering too far into inaccessible obscurity.
