The Northern Irish artist, singer and electronic composer and member of the The Magnetic North, Hannah Peel debuted her new solo album ‘Awake But Always Dreaming’ to great acclaim at the end of 2016, with Q Magazine describing the album as a ‘sublime electronic opus’ in their 4 star review. We welcome her very special headline show in Brighton!

Produced and recorded with long-term collaborator Erland Cooper, with orchestrations by Peel, both in their own, richly analogue studio in Shoreditch, London and at Attica Audio in County Donegal, Ireland, ‘Awake But Always Dreaming’ is a record about memory: the luminous and beautiful formation of memories and the devastating loss or slow, insidious damage to the mind. Her single ‘Tenderly’ from the album was playlisted by BBC 6 Music and in the wake of a sold out headline show in Shoreditch Church, London in November 2016, Peel was interviewed by Radio 4, The Guardian and Lauren Laverne (who also invited her to play a BBC 6 Music session).

2016 was Peel’s busiest year to date: in addition to her solo album, she collaborated with Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve (aka Erol Alkan & Richard Norris) on the singles ‘Diagram Girl’ and ‘Creation’ and her band The Magnetic North released their widely praised second album, ‘Prospect Of Skelmersdale’ in March ’16.

“Hannah Peel’s new album is an incredible record” The Quietus

“A beautiful record – one of the albums of the year” Lauren Laverne, BBC 6 Music
