It’s a pleasure to announce that Micachu & The Shapes will be returning to Brighton this October!

Hot on the heels of the experimental poppers’ sophomore album ‘NEVER’, this looks set to be a performance to remember.

Following up the critically acclaimed ‘Jewellery’ the  new album, ‘Never’, released in July through Rough Trade, sees Micachu (AKA maverick twenty-something Mica Levi) and her band consolidating their reputation as one of the most adventurous and beguiling outfits in contemporary music.

It’s not just on record that Micachu and co shine, however, as anyone who caught their set at this year’s Great Escape will tell you.  Utilizing home-made and modified instruments (as well as, memorably, a vacuum cleaner) Mica always puts on an impressive display, extending the experimentation of her recorded exploits to the stage.

If you’ve never caught this lot before make sure you don’t pass up this opportunity – you won’t have seen anyone quite like them, and won’t forget it in a hurry!

“Classically trained at the prestigious Purcell School, and the daughter of professional musicians, Levi and her Shapes crafted an album that so skilfully trod the line between pop-euphoria and lo-fi chaos, only repeated, concentrated listening revealed the modest precocity and confounding virtuosity of the album’s composer.” – The Line Of Best Fit

“This strange concoction slowly, disconcertingly, hooks you in.” – The Guardian

“Levi and her band sound more like the future than the past, at a moment when we desperately need some more future.” – Pitchfork
