While singer-songwriter Mark Mulcahy would go on to make a name all of his own, his career actually started with Miracle Legion; one of the original ‘college rock’ bands who formed in 1983 and became something of a cult hit following acclaim from the likes of NME and Melody Maker and the release of their debut album on Rough Trade Records.

Almost two decades since their last full-length release “Portrait of A Damaged Family”, the band back together on UK shores this summer.

Miracle Legion immediately sprang to life on the heels of a post-R.E.M. guitar rock boom in the 80s. The Connecticut-based band (lead by Mark Mulcahy) took to the scene and rode high from even their first release:The Backyard EP, which was released by the small Incas Records label in 1984. It was an immediate college hit with a string of album releases coming out on the legendary Rough Trade records.
“gifted singer and a unique sound that still holds up more than two decades later. ” – Consequence of Sound

Andy Halliday’s New Mistake
Described as: “an upbeat blues pop jangle of indie urgency”, Andy Halliday’s simple songs are meant as personal odes to the often-overlooked basic elements of modern living. This is Andy’s solo outing, as you can usually catch him as part of the popular Brighton trio Flash Bang Band. Expect his live performance to include improvisation and a re-imagining of his existing recorded material.

“Jrcy once met (and embarrassed himself in front of) Thurston Moore. He’s written (badly) for a range of music publications, put on a series of shows (that nearly bankrupted him) and currently resides in the basement of Resident Music, away from the customers.”
