The Sun’s a-blazing, a sea-breeze is spraying and everyone at the MV office are pleased to announce on the 26th November: Perfume Genius is playing.

Under the alias of MySpace username, Mike Hadreas, born and raised in Seattle is the brain behind lo-fi, chamber-pop creation Perfume Genius. With his first album formed in self-imposed isolation, mastered from second-generation MP3s, a second in 2012 and a third to come late this year, Genius already has a strong fan base for his haunting melodies. With each album released under Matador and Turnstile, we’ve already seen him rise to success.

Playing at festivals with the likes of Mount Kimbie and Gold Panda, this man has his own story to tell- why not come and hear it?

“If Learning was a private primal scream, Put Your Back N 2 It is Mike Hadreas’ first public display of his escalating talent.” – The Quietus

“An album of rare, redemptive beauty…one of the most uniquely endearing and quietly forceful debut albums of recent years.” – Drowned By Sound

Love Inks is a minimalist pop group from Austin, Texas, making music that harkens back to early 80s UK (Marine Girls, Young Marble Giants) and David Lynch’s Roadhouse.
The band released their new album EXI last September on Republic of Music. It sees them returning to the minimalist aesthetic and sound fans fell in love with on Love Inks’ 2011 debut E.S.P.

“Across ten tracks, Love Inks cut a sleek, hushed form with frontwoman Sherry LeBlanc’s smooth, subdued vocals gliding over barely-there guitar chords and metronomic drum pads.” – The Quietus
