Male-female duo, making catchy electro pop, balancing electronic sounds with warm vocal melodies.

Melting Vinyl is honoured to welcome back to Brighton – Sylvan Esso!
After an incredible sold out performance in September at the Green Door Store, Sylvan Esso return to Brighton and are bigger than ever.

Comprised of original folk singer Amelia Meath and electronic producer Nick Sanborn, Sylvan Esso released their debut album that topped many 2014 end of year critic’s lists – a collection of vivid addictions concerning suffering and love, darkness and deliverance – arrives as a necessary pop balm, an album stuffed with songs that don’t suffer the longstanding complications of that term.

Sanborn’s production is fully modern and wonderfully active. He enlists obliterating dubstep stutters and crisp electropop pulses, hazy electrostatic breezes and epinephrine dancefloor turnarounds. His music syncs seamlessly with Meath’s melodies, so that the respective words and beats become a string of ready-to-play singles.

Sylvan Esso acknowledges that the world is a tumult of complications by giving you a way to sing and dance with those troubles, if not to will them away altogether.

“Heartfelt, human electronica that pulses with a folksy emotion thanks to Meath’s beautifully warm vocals, the duo’s debut LP is a summer essential.” – NME 8/10
