The Hope
11 Queens Road, Brighton BN1 3WA
With a highly central position between the Clock Tower and Brighton station, the Hope is a bustling, music-led, watering hole popular with everyone from skinny, musicians to the after-work crowd, with the location guaranteeing a regular supply of fresh faces. There are always quality tunes on the stereo, from 13th Floor Elevators to The Automatic; a recently installed pizza oven, meanwhile, means no-one need go hungry. Above the pub itself is Hope Live, a 90-capacity venue that has been an essential part of the Brighton music scene since its days as the legendary Lift. Recently overhauled – even the stage has been repositioned, it remains a key (and ever-developing) venue on the Brighton music scene
