Sweet Baboo

In celebration of upcoming record ‘The Worry’ via Amazing Tapes For Canton, Sweet Baboo with his psych pop ear-worms will be joining Melting Vinyl for this very special headline show.

Sweet Baboo is the alter ego of North Walian musician and songwriter Stephen Black. His career has spanned over 2 decades and has seen him release 6 albums to date to critical acclaim.  He is currently putting the finishing touches to a new record, his first in over 5 years which will be released in early 2023.  Sweet Baboo has not performed live since End of The Road Festival 2018 but that’s not to say Black hasn’t been busy. Most recently in Jan 2022 releasing and touring his second album as Group Listening entitled ‘Clarinet & Piano: Selected Works Vol 2.’ with pianist Paul Jones.  He also records and performs with Welsh stellar artists Gruff Rhys and Cat le Bon

Sweet Baboo is a prime example of Stephen Black’s genius as a renaissance man, demonstrating the diversity of his musical talents beyond his efforts with Group Listening. Under the alias Sweet Baboo, Black creates psych pop ear-worms which also explore the parameters of lounge jazz, electronic minimalism, synth-pop, and alt-folk. Sweet Baboo is an infectious entity, with the ability to charm the audience through catchy pop hooks and stylistic experimentation.

‘Beautifully judged (electronic) psych-pop record that hums with warmth’ – Uncut

‘With a blend of humility and affection, Stephen Black, [is] a honey-voiced man with a goal of becoming the Harry Nilsson of Snowdonia.’ – The Times

Clémentine March

French born British songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Clémentine March creates charming Indie-pop songs which reflect her multi-cultural roots, having spent her childhood in France and learning her musical craft in Brazil. As a songwriter, March produces tracks that champion home recording style production, exciting instrumental variety, and heart-felt vocals and lyricism. March’s sound gloriously blends many musical styles together including Jazz, synth pop, psych pop, Indie-rock, and Alt-folk making her an intriguing contemporary in the alternative sphere.

DJ Canned Pineapple

Canned Pineapple is the recorded output of Irish songwriter Seán Drury. Slacker rock grandiose to the max. Drury will be spinning indie tunes under the Canned Pineapple moniker and keeping the energy flowing between live sets.
