Record Store Day in Kent

Record Store Day is an annual event founded in 2007 and held twice a year to “celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store”. Record Store Day 2021 will be taking place across two dates: Saturday 12th June and Saturday 17th July 2021 and this year it is more important than ever to support our local Record Store businesses as independent music gets back on its feet.

In celebration of this important event, Melting Vinyl have curated a number of Record Store’s across Kent for you to support!

Vinyl Store Jr – Canterbury

One of our favourite Kentish record stores is undoubtably Vinyl Store Jr, stocking 50/50 new/secondhand vinyl, with the new buys featuring indie/alternative, a smattering of classics and some jazz and a VERY mixed bag of second hand records including, classic rock, prog, psychedelia, punk, indie/alternative, 80s, jazz, plus a bit of everything else.

Along with hosting living music, Vinyl Store Jr annually partake in Record Store Day and have dropped a range of new releases already online, ranging from Amy Winehouse to The Cure to Prince. You don’t want to miss your chance at this huge selection!
