A 6 music darling, the Swiss singer-songwriter Anna Erhard shines with adventurous indie pop grooves and dry humour.
Together with Pola Roy (formerly of Wir Sind Helden), the duo sounds like Wet Leg and Fiona Apple had a rather subdued love child. Erhard writes songs about states of movement: about leaving, escape and transformation. She likes to draw on texts and motifs from her diary-like recordings and then grind them into pieces.
Robert Kretzschmar
His almost Bossa Nova-like voice, alternating between hinting and singing, leads through catchy arrangements with ever surprising chord changes, reminiscent of Phoenix or the nonchalance of Mac DeMarco. Drums and bass are very present while leaving room for shimmering synth pads and disco strings.
