AQUASERGE

Guaranteed entry for ticket holders: 7pm – 8pm

French psych-experimental-pop from Aquaserge; containing members of Stereolab and Tame Impala.

New French psych-experimental-pop band Aquaserge is formed of Julian Gasc (Stereolab), Julien Barbagallo (Tame Impala), alongside Benjamin Gilbert, clarinet player Manon Gilbert, and bassist Audrey Ginestet.

Wanting to explore different pockets of rock, a mixture of influences was thus established – navigating between the kraut giants such as Neu! and Faust, anglo-saxon pop, Soft Machine, Frank Zappa.

The result is something wholly original. Aquaserge sings an epic tale. A strange, underwater mythology is woven from one opus to the next — that of the charming Serge, survivor and savant, who wanders in the abyss aboard his cigar-shaped submarine.

With members having played/collaborated with the likes of Makoto Kawabata and Acid Mothers Temple, Kinski, Monade, Moodoïd, Laetitia Sadier, Stereolab, April March, Tahiti80,Tame Impala, Melody’s Echo Chamber, Damo Suzuki (Can), Aquaserge come from a good pedigree.

Support comes from:

Crayola Lectern released his debut double album, “The Fall and Rise of…” to great critical acclaim in 2013. The work and muse continue apace with the second album nearing completion and the third underway. Piano-oriented songs and adventures which affect people greatly, forming a unique musical world, all of its own, in thrall to nobody, best described as “what psychedelic music would have sounded like had the Edwardians invented it.”
