Moshi Moshi & Melting Vinyl in association with Duke of York’s Picturehouse present…

Opening the specially designed Festival Hub at this year’s festival, we are delighted to announce an exclusive screening of Lost in Translation. This Oscar-winning second feature from director Sofia Coppola (Somewhere, The Virgin Suicides) is a highly acclaimed emotional tour de force exploring the fragility of human relationships and the contrast between Eastern and Western cultures. Featuring performances from luminaries such as Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, and Giovannni Ribisi, the film, called ‘almost European in its subtlety and nuance’ by Time Out, covers broad themes through the prism of a tragicomic relationship between a middle aged man and a young woman… And is also one of the most enjoyable depictions of contemporary Japanese culture to come out of the noughties.
Prior to this unique screening, the evening will feature Sky-Lounge waiter service and a special musical performance from premier Brighton Jazz outfit, The Justice League of Jazz, to transport the audience to their dramatic Tokyo destination.
