Melting Vinyl presents Burning House + Yumi And The Weather + Winter Gardens

Melting Vinyl are pleased to bring you the dark and dynamic shrouding fuzz of Burning House.

Burning House were formed in Southampton 2013, and comprise of frontman and guitarist Aaron Mills, guitarist Ruby Taylor, drummer Dominic Taylor and bassist Patrick White.

Their music rides the soft/loud dynamic well, producing music ranging from beautiful melancholy to loud feedback-driven post rock, and have recently released their full debut album ‘Anthropocene’ on MIOHMI RECORDS.

Fusing elements of shoegaze and decade-spanning American Indie (Elliott Smith, Swans, Deerhunter, Teenage Fanclub, Slint, Pixies), Burning House’s sound is defined by multi-layered piercing guitar rhythms, sophisticated melodic arrangements, and tempos spanning introspective, stripped down pieces through to distinctly upbeat, frenetic songs.

After gingerly approaching BBC 6 Music’s indie doyen Steve Lamacq with a 4-track demo while in Southampton, Lamacq was so enthralled that he chose Burning House to appear on 6 Music’s new bands line-up.

Burning House have previously opened for the legendary Wire, after earning the appreciation of Colin Newman. Their euphoric sound has also led to playing with the likes of Moon Duo, Shonen Knife, Is Bliss and Kagoule.

“Fusing vintage American indie rock with shoegaze tapestries, the band’s blissed out style forever verges on the edge of raucous collapse” – Clash Music

“Recalling the wild but awesome fuzz- and feedback-driven noise channeled through the likes of Swervedriver and Jesus & Mary Chain, Southampton’s Burning House produces a fine slice of heavy shoegaze bliss with a talent at walking a fine line between melodicism and an ear-wrenching wall of sound” – Louder Than War

+ Yumi and the Weather

Yumi and the weather have been perfecting their unique blend of electrifying technicolour psych-pop and awe-inspiring music and are finally bring out their self titled album on their own inprint label MIOHMI Record.

“I LOVE Yumi And The Weather… Gorgeous” – Nemone (BBC 6Music)

“You could possibly pitch her somewhere between St Vincent and Prince” John Kennedy (Radio X)

+ Winter Gardens
