We’re excited to announce that the renowned Jim White will be making his much-anticipated return to Brighton!
Since the tail end of the nineties Florida-born Jim has been writing and performing intermittently, with records like Wrong Eyed Jesus and Transnormal Skiperoo earning him much critical acclaim, helping him to carve out a dedicated international fanbase.
After releasing two critically acclaimed records in the last three years (Sounds of the Americans and Where It Hits You) his latest carom finds him producing records for other artists. A bunch of records – four so far just this year.
The alt-country maverick’s album Where It Hits You is among the most powerful and emotionally devastating releases of his career, a cathartic masterpiece written in a period of great personal trauma, and it will no doubt be doubly potent in front of a live audience.
Known for both his genre bending records and his role as narrator/guide of the award winning BBC documentary film Searching For The Wrong Eyed Jesus, Jim’s an eternally restless soul. New album Where It Hits You ranges from a brooding dreamlike opener, ‘Chase The Dark Away’, to the wild eyed stomp of ‘Here We Go’, to the Beefheartesque ‘Infinite Mind’, to the Harvest-era Neil Young ringer ‘My Brother’s Keeper’, finding him in full musical and poetical stride.
Don’t miss this opportunity to catch this legend of the American South in person: his tours are few and far between, and his performances never anything less than unforgettable.
