Once upon at time, it was all “anti-folk” and “Moldy Peaches” and stuff with KIMYA DAWSON. She’d turn up with a ukulele and play the sweetest, simplest, most heart-affecting songs about people’s general everyday life, and everyone would hug each other, and the world would be a better place.
But then, some time around 2007, she wrote the soundtrack to a massive hit film called “JUNO“,and in 2009 she won a GRAMMY for her work. All of a sudden she was BIG NEWS, and started playing BIG VENUES to BIG CROWDS…
So she took her ukulele along to these BIG VENUES with BIG CROWDS, and played them the sweetest, simplest, most heart-affecting songs about people’s general everyday life. And everyone hugged each other. And the world was a better place.
This is Kimya’s first Brighton show show since 2009, and if you want the world to be a better place – or just fancy a hug – then please do come along.
