The music of Large Plants could be characterised as psych rock, with this outing having a folkier, proggier and more fantastic feel than the heavier biker-rock of the 2022 debut. All tracks for both albums were recorded and performed entirely by Jack Sharp in a barn, since demolished. “It was a dirty, rusty, metal shack with no insulation or sound treatment, and it was full of junk, but it sounded weirdly great, and I loved it.” Sharp told Shindig magazine.

Large Plants started in 2020 as a solo recording project for Jack Sharp, the singer and guitarist for Wolf People currently on hiatus. Sharp also plays guitar in the band Project Gemini and occasionally records and performs as a solo folk artist. Sharp currently fronts the live incarnation of the band on lead vocals and guitar with Paul Milne on bass and backing vocals, Joe Wooley on guitar and Itamar Rubinger on drums.

The Thorn out now on Ghost Box records.

‘What was initially described in 2020 as a solo “post apocalyptic downer folk-rock” side project with Large Plants has now flowered into something more significant.. with rippling background sounds and some “spacey” electronic effects’. Folk Radio

Route 500
Route 500 is the musical world of Derek Inver – observational lyrics, compelling vocals and dissociative recollections make up their dynamic, lo-fi sound. The Brighton based project pursues rawness over perfection and captures the darker inner workings and depths of the human psyche. The band have drawn comparisons to the likes of The Microphones, Big Thief and Red House Painters, earning an ever-expanding following of loyal listeners.

DJ Innerstrings
Innerstrings is a visual/video artist based in Lewes, working for Overmono, James Holden and Uncle Acid, amongst many others.
