With much excitement we’re able to reveal that Zombie Zombie will be making their welcome return to Brighton this October, at the Green Door Store!
Renowned for their innovative reinterpretations of classic horror soundtracks, this Parisian duo raised many eyebrows with 2009’s ingenious ‘Plays John Carpenter’ record, and have since graced and terrified audiences on the international circuit.
Taking inspiration from similarly boundary-breaking acts like Suicide, Goblin and Can, the two creative masterminds, Etienne Jaumet and Cosmic Neman (also of Herman Dune), have nonetheless carved out a niche all of their own, catering to horror and sci-fi aficionados as well as fans of forward-thinking, experimental music.
Theirs isn’t a grisly bandwagon that rolls through town too often, so make sure you don’t miss this opportunity to catch one of France’s most intriguing and original acts in their element.
“A tribute and a celebration, true to the source material yet without fear of expanding upon motifs and even slipping a little funk into proceedings, ‘…Plays John Carpenter’ is a cracking little set that will appeal instantly to film buffs and electronica boffins alike. More casual fans of both, consider it a playlist-topping curio. Every bit as very good as its cornerstone constituents suggest.” BBC Music
“An excellently executed tribute to someone who is clearly a massive influence on their sound. With the traditional set up of Cosmic Neman on live drums, and Etienne Jaumet surrounded by various analogue synths and wires they breathe new life into these easily recognisable film scores, with a large dose of their own unique, spooky techno.” High Voltage
