We love working with this independent entertainment venue in the heart of the North Laine.
On Friday 9th May The Rheingans Sisters take in the Komedia Studio stage. Renowned for their richly textured folk harmonies and masterful instrumentation, this sister duo promises a soulful evening.
Later this month on Wednesday 28th May, the main room will welcome folk powerhouses The Young’uns. Known for their warm harmonies and humorous yet poignant storytelling, this trio will offer a night of laughter, reflection, and incredible musicianship.
On Thursday 5th June, prepare to be amazed by Gasper Nali in the Komedia Studio. Hailing from Malawi, Nali is a one-man musical marvel, creating powerful rhythms with his homemade one-stringed babatoni. The babatoni is an African one-string home-made 3-metre long bass guitar, and with a stick and an empty beer bottle, together with a cow skin kick drum and catchy melodies, he creates the most amazing and danceable original Afro Beats possible.
On Wednesday 11th June, AVAWAVES will enchant audiences with their ethereal blend; expect a transportive and euphoric meeting of violin, piano, and synth, AVAWAVES embrace a fusion of modern composition, ambient, and electronic styles while incorporating the pair’s acclaimed soundtrack work.
Later in the year, Tuesday 7th October brings Irish folk duo Ye Vagabonds to the main room. Ye Vagabonds is an Irish alt-folk group led by Dublin-based brothers Diarmuid and Brían Mac Gloinn.
Having been described as “being at the fore of a new wave of Irish folk”, they have won Best Track, Best Album and Best Folk Group at RTE Radio 1 Folk Awards.
On Tuesday 21st October, the enigmatic Herman Dune graces the main room with his unique blend of anti-folk and indie charm. Herman Dune, the most Californian of French songwriters and a defining figure of anti-folk, presents Odysseús, a musical journey through his tumultuous life, set for release on June 13, 2025, via Santa Cruz Records. Our shows is part of his solo tour across Europe and the UK.
With each act offering something truly special, Melting Vinyl’s 2025 series at Komedia (with additional acts to be announced) is not to be missed.
