A beautifully bewitching night awaits Brighton with the beguiling world of Sairie.
Come celebrate and usher in their new album at the launch in Brighton’s jewel of a church (Aubrey Beardsley’s place of worship, no less)

Sairie – Deceptively stripped-back, other-worldly and beautiful amidst ghosts, fairies and tragic love. The Brighton three-piece of Emma Morton, Jon Griffin and Andy Thomas cast magic spells upon the listener. Their music is like a séance; an enchanted visit to the inside of a hollow hill.
Sairie now present their first full-length album, ‘Beneath the Spreading Tree’. The album continues Sairie’s exploration of early 70’s folk influences, blending otherworldly atmospherics with stripped-back arrangements.

Sairie are:
Emma Morton: vocals, autoharp
Jon Griffin: Vocals, guitar, harmonium, percussion
Andy Thomas: bass
Maria Marzaioli: violin
Alice Eldridge: cello
Rebecca Tann: accordian

“…acoustically expansive, drone-deepened, acid-folk nuggets”Stewart Lee, Idler Magazine

“Hearkening back to the early 70’s heyday of acid and psychedelic folk (and inhabiting the same landscape as landmarks such as Vashti Bunyan’s Just Another Diamond Day and Trees‘ The Garden of Jane Delawney), Sairie’s gentle, graceful songs are both pleasingly out of time and otherworldly.” Grey Malkin, Moof Magazine

Brighton-based singer-songwriter and multi- instrumentalist Eliza Skelton has been quietly making music on the south coast for many years. Her songs are a genre-bending blend of atmospheric, gothic-tinged folk rock, electronica, and lush, pastoral vocal harmonies, complemented by visionary narrative lyrics.

Eliza released her debut solo album, ‘The Lookerer’, on Blue Matter Records. Described by Stewart Lee in The Idler as “the twenty-first-century filmic folk rock album everyone needs” and as “an entrancingly good debut,” by Shindig Magazine, The Lookerer received an enthusiastic reception and the limited edition LPs sold out soon after launch. The album received radio play on, amongst others, Stuart Maconie’s Freakzone BBC Radio 6, and KLOF (Folk Radio UK)

She is currently working on her second solo album due for release in 2027.

A digital download of The Lookerer is available from Bandcamp here.

“Like a cross between Steve Nicks and a Stygian witch that can see into your soul.”Stewart Lee
“Eliza’s assured yet gentle and mysteriously captivating voice binds the disarmingly otherworldly vibe of the musical settings with the down-to-earth mysticality of her lyrical and philosophical vision.”David Kidman, KLOF Magazine.
