Arigato from Brighton Japan 2011! Yann Tiersen & Tony Benn announced!

A huge Arigato to all those who came out for the events over the past week at Brighton Japan 2011!

Audiences were treated to memorable musical performances from a host of Japanese acts, including No Cars, Kuaigora, Tenniscoats and drawn to the dancefloor from DJ sets from Japan Underground and DK720. The Catalyst Club filled our minds with pearls of wisdom (and educated us on the art of ‘Bum Reading’), and Sofia Coppella’s classic Lost in Translation transported us to the other side of the world. And for the finale, an epic evening of ‘Live Karaoke’, with house band The Rockabies and Maids Cafe, making popstars of all involved!

Photos from the events are live on our Facebook page.

So as the summer finally arrives, all at Melting Vinyl HQ are not off to beach. No Sir! We’ve been busy working on some real treats for later in the year!

Following a series of sold out shows, Amelie Composer, Yann Tiersen, comes to Brighton on the 21st October at the Concorde 2, with his stunning new album, Skying.
