Jam Packed June!

So last week we told you to keep your eyes and ears opened this week for more fab announcements? Well here they are!

Melt Yourself Down will be coming to Komedia in June for a very special performance! Melt Yourself Down is a fierce post-punk, discordant funk centered around saxophones and world music kinda thing. They say that they make sounds you can taste and smell, but we’ll let you be the judge of that. You can listen to their new single ‘Release!’ here.

Melt Yourself Down are added to our jam packed June line up! The shows we have for June are –

9th – Sallie Ford & The Sound Outisde @ Komedia Studio
19th – Melt Yourself Down @ Komedia Studio
20th – Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks @ Green Door Store
21st – Ron Sexsmith @ St George’s Church
28th – Devendra Banhart @ The Old Market

Now we’re getting very excited for Create Music Festival over in Ashford this July (and if you didn’t know, Create is a free music festival in Victoria Park!) Infact we’re even more so excited now that Revelation St Mary’s have announced a warm up show at St Mary’s Church with The Charlatans legend Tim Burgess! Now Tim has been a very busy man. After bringing his second solo album ‘Oh No I Love You’ to Coalition last year, he’s since been telling stories, popping up on 6 Music here and there, and making coffee named Tim Peaks. So last year before his Coalition show we had a Twitter debate on the best song on the album, so let’s open it up again. Emma from MV is still obsessed with White for example, so let us know yours and tag us all in – @MeltingVinyl @Tim_Burgess (we’re sure Tim would like to know and get involved too!) Tickets for this are available here!

Don’t forget the day has finally arrived, tonight we welcome Orange Juice legend Edwyn Collins to the beautiful St George’s Church. Tickets are limited for this so arrive at 7pm if you don’t want to miss out. We’re getting so excited in the office today Rip It Up has been constantly on the speakers!

Also Monday we welcome back the lovely King Creosote at The Basement! This show has now completely sold out so we’ll see you lucky people there!
