Another Special St George’s Church Show!

We at Melting Vinyl like to bring you only the nicest of news of a sunny Thursday morning. If you haven’t heard already, let us be the first to tell you that singer/songwriter/actor/poet/folk star (there’s many more we can add) the lovely Johnny Flynn will be returning to Brighton with The Sussex Wit at the gorgeous St George’s Church in October!

Johnny Flynn’s third record ‘Country Mile’ will be released 30th September through Transgressive Records. If you pre order the album now, you’ll instantly get the new single ‘The Lady Is Risen’ for free! Have a sneaky listen to the new single here!

Johnny is also bringing some great support for his tour to celebrate his new album. First support comes from Marika Hackman, whose debut mini-album “That Iron Taste” is available now on iTunes brings us singles like ‘Bath Is Black‘. If you missed her at this year’s Great Escape, she popped into Tony Marks’ show on Juice FM which you can listen back to here. Marika recently has been non stop having just supported Laura Marling on her sold out Australian tour and her own UK tour, so supporting Johnny Flynn is a great way for you to catch her before she becomes massive and almost impossible to see live. Second support comes from Cosmo Sheldrake. When we first had a listen to Cosmo, we were quite honestly blown away. The master loop sampler and multi instrumentalist plays banjo, loop station, keyboards, double bass, drums, didgeridoo, penny whistle, sousaphone and more. If his videos on his website are anything to go by (one of which is live from a pig sty), this is going to be an incredible start to your evening with the acoustics of St George’s Church. We URGE you to get there for 7pm to catch him, plus the queue for the bar is tiny at that time!

Tickets for this absolute jam packed show go on sale 9am Friday 2nd August (tomorrow!) These are absolutely going to fly out, so make sure you’re in the queue ready at Resident, or ready at your computer for your other favourite online outlets.

We have another great announcement for you on Monday 5th August, but our lips are very much buttoned! Fancy a guessing game? Have a chat with us via Twitter at @MeltingVinyl!
