Vive La France! 2011…Starts Thurday 27th Jan

With Melting Vinyl’s ‘Vive La France! 2011’ less than one week away, the hotly anticipated arrival of leading French artists onto Brighton shores is sure to excite with three days of top music and performance. “We’ve got a great eclectic mix of artists and I’m looking forward to seeing how the whole festival comes together” says Diana, head of production at MV, “I’m particularly looking forward to MELANIE PAIN and also LA BOETIE on the first night at The Basement. I’ve been listening to them both a lot lately so I’m excited to see them live. Also FREDY MASSAMBA’s afro-hip hop on the Friday will be brilliant. I also can’t wait to see CHAPELIER FOU at the Duke’s.”

When asked who he was looking forward to, head of booking Paul said that “I’m particularly excited about checking out the first ever UK performance from the seductive pop duo, LA BOETIE, at the Basement with MELANIE PAIN (Nouvelle Vague) on the 27th January 2011. With an album scheduled for imminent release, this will be the only opportunity to see them in a such an intimate setting!” (Check them out: http://vimeo.com/10062796)

“Also one set which is simply unmissable will be multi-instrumentalist and Yann Tiersen collaborator, CHAPELIER FOU, who were are proud to have playing an exclusive live performance at the Dukes of Yorks prior to the late night screening of DELICATESSEN. Combining the elegance of Andrew Bird with atmospheric beats you only have to watch the following clip to understand why we are all so excited (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkflmyBEXvI)!”

“Generally people are getting to know about the amazing quality of music from a country that know how to present their art well” says Anna, the founder and owner of Melting Vinyl, as well as a primary booker. “The cheeky electro folk sounds of KIM at the Hope on Friday and on Saturday the multi instruments spectacle of CHAPELIER FOU, at a suitably quirky setting for watching DELICATESSEN. Last year we had audiences coming from far and wide, stylish ladies and gents, FRANCOPHILES, the dedicated Brighton followers of music, this year I’m looking forward to seeing them all again”

Vive Le France! 2011 commences January 27th and continues through to the 29th, showcasing itself in some of Brighton’s finest live venues such as The Komedia, The Hope, The Basement and a special screening at The Duke Of York;s Picturehouse of DELICATESSEN, a film by JEAN – PIERRE JEUNET (of Amelie fame). In addition to all these great gigs, each night features exclusive afterparties at Plateau, featuring MELANIE PAIN & FRIENDS DJ, JD THE DJ & FRIENDS and GET YOUR ACTS TOGETHER & FRIENDS DJs!
