Hannah and Toby are a dazzling combination. Hannah is an award-winning accordionist, dancer, songwriter and singer, renowned for her work with The Jigdoll Ensemble, Lady Maisery, Seasick Steve, Maddy Prior, Eliza Carthy, Karine Polwart etc. Toby is a globetrotting French cellist whose post-classical, inventive playing combines beautifully with Hannah to create a charismatic, playful chemistry.
In a journey through sound, texture, emotion and rhythm, Hannah and Toby navigate the paths of growth, discovery, darkness and light, exploring the dialog of cello, voice, accordion and foot percussion in new and unexpected ways. Effortlessly blending, the pair play and dance through a series thoughtful tunes, soulful songs and joyful set-pieces in which Hannah’s vocal mastery is underpinned by Toby’s unorthodox delivery, weaving intricate layers of harmony and melody together to the beat and swish of percussive dance. Ever curious, always exploring their connection to the worlds around them, this duo offers an entirely novel, delicate, grounded and powerful performance.
Hayley Eileen (Tenderlore) is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and one third of the flourishing harmony driven folk trio Tenderlore. Instantly recognisable for her vocal that flows seamlessly from hypnotically powerful to hauntingly delicate, Hayley’s folk-esque songs are shaped by stories from her Irish and London roots.
DJ Loscán (pronounced ‘Lus-kawn’) is Brighton-based composer, songwriter and session drummer Fred Hills. He creates instinctive, emotionally driven music nestled amongst cinematic instrumental, alt-folk and progressive indie. Drawing inspiration from artists including The Cinematic Orchestra, White Denim, Seb Rochford and José González, his work blends textural depth with melodic intimacy.
