After smashing it on tour supporting fellow Irish band, The Mary Wallopers, Nixer returns by popular demand headlining a Brighton gig.
London-based Nixer writes, records and produces their raw, energetic synth-driven punk sound with a DIY ethos.
Nixer’s debut EP ‘PEOPLE FEEL’ received BBC 6Music support from Iggy Pop, Lauren Laverne (her ‘While You Were Sleeping’ pick), Steve Lamacq (featured and interviewed as a ‘Spotlight Artist’) & 6Music’s Introducing Mixtape. Nixer also received airplay from Jack Saunders as his ‘Next Wave’ on the BBC R1 Indie Show as well as featuring on Spotify’s New Music Friday UK. The first single of 2023, ‘Pleasure’, received support across BBC R1 from Jack Saunders, Tara Kumar & Gemma Bradley. ‘Irish Dancer’ was also met with critical acclaim with continued support from Jack Saunders as well as multiple spins from Steve Lamacq on BBC 6Music. The act’s 3rd single of 2023 ‘Second Hand’ was met with similar acclaim, continually supported across prime time Radio 1 via Jack Saunders as well the band being enlisted for BBC Introducing’s No Instruments Challenge, 2024 brings with it their sophomore EP ‘I hit the town and the town hit me back’ with a slew of singles planned.
The act have played at notable festivals such as London Calling Amsterdam, Electric Picnic, Supersonic Block Party Festival Paris, The Great Escape and Other Voices; along with four sold out headline shows in London under their belt.
Amongst The Pigeons is an electronica artist. It is only when you try going beyond that simple description, you come to realise there is nothing straightforward about Amongst The Pigeons.
Automouse insist on bio-cyclopean rave ups, improvised lo-fi hardware, swamps of distortion and really filthy beats. This is future refuse reused.
