Ásgeir Announced!

Last week we announced Ásgeir to play The Green Door Store this December! We’re so so excited for this, and we’ll tell you a few reasons why…

Back in May in amongst all The Great Escape chaos that had taken over Brighton for a few days, up at St George’s Church was the outstanding John Grant show. Why are we telling you this? Because John Grant bought Ásgeir along as a support, and wow pretty much. Wow. We THEN found out that Ásgeir was born and raised in a tiny Icelandic village (and by tiny, we mean population 40) and since the release of Dyrd í dauðathogn he has broken all records to become Iceland’s fastest and biggest selling debut album by a home grown artist, outselling even Bjork and Sigur Ros. Not only that, but quite amazingly 1 in 10 people in Iceland own his album. Pretty nice, right? Fans of Bon Iver will fall head over heels for him. Listen to his incredible King and Cross, and get your tickets sharpish before they all run out. Trust us, this is going to be one hell of a show. Tickets available now from here!

Looking forward to tonight’s Emily Portman Trio show too, with support from Ellie Ford. Timings are as follows –
Doors – 8pm
Ellie Ford – 8:30pm
Emily Portman Trio – 9:15/10:15pm (that’s right, they’re playing two sets!)

Tickets are available on the door at Komedia for £12.
