Snow, Tweets and Shows (in that order!)

Not only did this week bring us SNOW (something we’re a BIG fan of here at Melting Vinyl) but we’ve also had a rather crazy Twittering week! We asked you guys for your favourite Melting Vinyl shows of 2012 and boy did you get stuck in to the debate! Thank you to all the respnonses we’ve had so far. The most popular seemed to be all the shows at St George’s Church (of course, because they are wonderful). The artists that were the most popular in our poll were Kimya Dawson, King Creosote & Jon Hopkins, Perfume Genius, Sinead O’Connor, Martha Wainwright, Francois & The Atlas Mountains, Sharon Van Etten and The Staves! Have we missed your favourite? Get in touch! Our debate is still going strong, let us know at @MeltingVinyl!

Next week we have TWO great shows lined up for you. If you haven’t been to a gig yet this year then nows your chance to get back to reality!

On the 31st (this time next week infact) we have the great David Bazan of Pedro The Lion fame performing at The Basement. Tickets are still available for this and you won’t want to miss out on his new solo material and his back catalogue of Pedro The Lion work. Infact all his videos (to give you a taster) can be found here! Tell us your favourite on Twitter @MeltingVinyl, ours is Wolves At The Door. Tickets are still available here.

Next Sunday the wonderful Erin McKeown graces us at The Latest Music Bar! Not only is that exciting enough, her new album ‘Manifestra’ is available now on iTunes! Yay! Review it, rate it, listen to it, tell us about it!! You can find it here!

Don’t forget as we charge into February next week, the legendary Courtney Pine will be at Komedia on Thursday 7th and this is a show you really don’t want to miss. Jazz Legend. Spine tingling real legend. If you’re a student, come along and show your student ID card and you can get in for £10! Just a tenner! Tickets are available here for all you non student types too!
