Kent we 💓 You
Melting Vinyl’s impact on the vibrant and growing Kent music scene.
Over the past decade We (Melting Vinyl) has programmed an eclectic mix of live music across Kent, providing a platform for local acts such Salvation Jayne and Tokyo Tea Room and bringing internationally renowned talent such as Joan as Police Woman and Ezra Furman to the county. From intimate church concerts to festivals slots and headline shows at local arts centers, We have enjoyed both the enthusiastic reception from audiences and artists alike to the creative, dynamic International, national and local artists we have brought to your lovely county.
If you have been to a Melting Vinyl gig you will know that live music is our passion and we will do what we can to keep bringing quality acts to Kent when the lockdown is over. But we need your help to get through these imposed months of live music silence.
Cheryl Pierce: Head of Performing Arts & Learning, Creative Folkestone “Always upbeat and surprising; Melting Vinyl have been quirkily invigorating the music scene in East Kent with cutting edge bands and performers over the past ten years.”
Sarah Lowndes: (audience member: Kent). “I love MV at the Quarterhouse because it’s local, intimate and I get to see bands I love and new bands that I’ve never seen before. Favourites so far have been, Esra Furman and Snapped Ankles. Can’t wait to be able to see live music again!”
Ivan Marziano, A Certain Kind Records: “The expansion of Melting Vinyl’s promoting activities to Kent has been essential in providing a springboard for key emerging local band. Their championing of Tokyo Tea Room has meant that the band were able to further open up their audiences and secure gigs at prestigious venues such as Folkestone Quarterhouse, and as a record label we are immensely grateful for their support and professionalism. Long Live Melting Vinyl!”
Toby Cotton (audience member): ”Melting Vinyl has been responsible for bringing many of my favourite bands to play in Kent, and is a sign of quality live music. Seeing Ezra Furman playing at the Quarterhouse in my home town was very special, though I could mention any number of great shows.”’
