Bat For Lashes – aka multi-instrumentalist and visual artist Natasha Khan, returns to the exquisite St George’s Church, Brighton, ahead of the release of her latest album, The Bride.

With two Mercury Music Prize nominations and an Ivor Novello award behind her, Khan’s performance is set to be a distinctively haunting and rich experience, inviting us in to a musical space of darkly fantastical songs ripe with magic realism.

The Bride was conceived of and produced by Natasha Khan alongside long-time collaborators and friends Simone Felice, Dan Carey, Head and Ben Christophers. Released via Parlophone/Warner Brothers on 1 July 2016, The Bride follows the story of a woman whose fiancé has been killed in a crash on the way to the church for their wedding. The Bride flees the scene to take the honeymoon trip alone, resulting in a dark meditation on love, loss, grief, and celebration. Written as the soundtrack for a feature length film in mind, this is Khan’s most ambitious work to date, sonically and visually incorporating an entire world inhabited by The Bride, along with the characters and places she encounters on the way.

Natasha Khan’s visionary presence will be felt at this intimate show, which invites all attendees to wear wedding/formal attire for the occasion.

A portion of proceeds from these shows will benefit the David Lynch Foundation, whose mission is to bring Transcendental Meditation to at-risk populations around the world.

NB. Please note that due to the exclusive nature of these shows previewing the album ahead of its release; any use of mobile phones is prohibited inside the concert hall/sanctuary of the churches – use of mobile phones or recording equipment will result in removal from the concert hall.
