We’re thrilled to announce that California-based Swedish-French act Herman Dune, DIY, anti-folk, folk rock, Americana and alt-country. will be joining us at The Rose Hill on October 12th, after a long time away from Brighton. The Herman Dune LP ‘Notes From Vinegar Hill’ was released in November 2020 and has something for everyone – folksy rockers, Bakersfield twang, Big Pink-style Americana, 70s AM Gold, and rough-hewn Cold Turkey guitar stomps.

Calming River is a singer-songwriter whose material replicates the dark underbelly of alternative folk and the vibrance of ambient musical expression. With simplicity at the core of Calming River’s music, beautiful melancholy is executed through poetic lyrics, delicately technical guitar playing, and the vast exploration of dynamics.
Brighton-based Calming River writes dark, intricate, fingerstyle alt-folk. “Captivating and possessing significant emotional heft” – Overblown
