Having risen through the ranks of the UK indie world, championed by pop stars and indie icons and collaborated with Suede legend Bernard Butler on her stunning 2013 self-titled album, Liverpool’s Natalie McCool is a songwriter with a unique turn of phrase and melody that she applies to the classic themes of romance and heartache in a way that makes them thrilling and personal to the listener.

Excelling in razor-sharp alt-pop production developed with Dave Berger from seminal Liverpool alt-pop band Outfit and mixed by Rich Turvey (Clean Cut Kid, Blossoms, VITAMIN), Natalie McCool’s new recordings have every hallmark of great pop music with a fresh twist of modern alternative influences.

Love for Natalie’s songs come from across the blogosphere in places such as Idolator, Pigeons and Planes, and more mainstream press of Sunday Times, Q and Clash. Natalie also landed on Radio One, first with numerous plays from Huw Stephens and then on the Radio One BBC Introducing Playlist. This was followed my more support from BBC Introducing who described her as ‘One of the finest emerging songwriters around’ and featured her on a live TV Session with Everything Everything.

‘Pins quickly buries itself under your skin with its mechanically brushed drums and jazz-inflected pangs of lovesick fragility.’ Q

“Sure to cement McCool’s status as one of the country’s most promising songwriters.” The 405
