All female four-piece from Manchester, Bella Union’s PINS have been making huge waves with their noisy, garage, catchy shoe-gaze pop.
Manchester-based PINS have had a fantastic and fast-paced ascent into the music world since their formation in February 2013.
Comprised of Faith. Anna, Lois and Sophie, PINS released their first EP “Luvu4lyf” through Bella Union which quickly sold out. The EP was quickly followed by their first UK tour, along with support for Warpaint, Dum Dum Girls, Crocodiles, Sleigh Bells, Jamie T and Savages.
PINS mix together post-punk, fuzzed up garage and rock and roll to create a distinct and new sound. Utilitarian guitar lines cut through wails with their hummable choruses throughout, full of noisy textured pop.
Their debut album Girls Like Us, released earlier in 2014, saw them travel to the US, with shows at big festivals such as SXSW, CMJ and Culture Collide Festival. Big things are coming for this band and we are so excited to have them play Brighton.
“The record is everything you’d expect from a PINS debut, with a little bit extra tacked on. Mostly, it’s a belligerent beast, boasting bravado and a torrent of guitar swarms.” – Line of Best Fit
“PINS are like a photo negative of a jangling indie-pop band – earnest, intense, and gothically compelling” – Clash Music
Support comes from:
The Black Tambourines
Winners of Glastonbury’s emerging talent contest this year the band
have a brand new single out through Art Is Hard in November followed by a short UK
tour. Album is released on Feb 24th with publishing from Domino.
