Westcountry folk singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Seth Lakeman returns to Brighton.
Lakeman has performed his beautiful folk music worldwide, from Libya to Australia. He has performed with other established artists such as Tori Amos and Clannad. He even flew to New York City especially to meet Izzy Young for a BBC Radio 4 special called ‘The Folklorist’.
His latest album ‘Word of Mouth’ (released February 2014) was inspired by unearthed hidden histories and unsung everyday heroes from in and around his native Devon and Cornwall. Recorded in a church in East Cornwall, and featuring the stories of the real people who inspired it, the added guest instrumentalists give depth, drama and wings to songs where working lives, majestic landscapes, the tragedy of war, the price of revolution and more, are brought to life.
