Tiny Leaves

Monday 9th October 2017

Matt Sewell

At The Greys

Doors 7:30 pm

Price £8 + booking fee / £10

The stark and and delicately cinematic neo-classical composer Tiny Leaves will play The Greys as part of an intimate string of shows MV will be holding at the warm and welcoming space. Having supported the likes of A Winged Victory For A Sullen and Julianna Barwick, Joel Nathaniel Pike’s recent album ‘A Good Land, An Excellent Land’ was released to critical acclaim, described as ‘stunning’ by Lauren Laverne on BBC6 Music.

For fans of Lubomyr Melnyk to Max Richter, Tiny Leaves brings about a freedom and warm hope in his compositions. His multi-instrumentalism knows no bounds; it is heart-felt, open and highly accomplished. His album ‘A Good Land, An Excellent Land’ evokes a journey, and is at times sensitive, delicate and intense. It is led mostly by piano, while strings and guitars weave in and out of the melody. Given the dynamism of the compositions however, there is no way to beat seeing him live.

“Stunning” – BBC 6Music – Lauren Laverne “
“life affirming, a blessing” – acloserlisten
His is a special talent that has been nurtured, nourished and then cultivated throughout the years; it’s a natural talent that defies longevity, and one that proves elusive to the passage of time” – Fluid Radio
