Zaza Music and Melting Vinyl presents:
Vieux Farka Touré

Mali musician Vieux Farka Toure’ – the Hendrix of the Sahara – returns to Brighton.

The globe-trotting and genre-bending Vieux Farka Touré crafts Malian blues in the rich Songhai tradition of his late father, famed guitarist Ali Farka Touré. Vieux draws on haunting Saharan blues and traditional Malian melodies and infuses them with his own global influences to create an irresistible Afropop sound all his own.
Vieux Farka Touré’s live performances are known for dazzling crowds with his speed and dexterity on the guitar, as well as his palpable charisma and luminous smile, both of which captivate audiences. With his trio he plays music from new album Touristes and his back catalogue.

“The son of the late Malian guitarist Ali Farka Touré inherited his dad’s dazzlingly fluid phrasing but clearly also digs the fiery African blues rock of bands like Tinariwen. Here, he joins American peers for a crossover set that slays”
‘The Secret’ album review – Rolling Stone

“Set to be Africa’s next guitar hero.”
