2 Down, 2 To Go!

This week we kicked off our 4-shows-in-a-week-week with an absolute BANG, and we’re now halfway through!

Monday was the return of Brighton’s very own The Electric Soft Parade at The Green Door Store. Having had some real amazing feedback on their album ‘IDIOTS’ (and why wouldn’t they – it is pretty special) we were super excited to see their return. After every single song it was clear that everyone was incredibly happy to see their return, too! But not just us Brighton folk – BBC 6 Music made ‘IDIOTS’ album of the day yesterday! If you missed it yesterday, don’t worry too much. You can listen back here. There’s also some pictures on our Facebook from the night you can have a look at!

Last night we were blown away by Melt Yourself Down at Komedia’s studio! Now we have been so excited for this show since that energetic performance on Jools Holland a few weeks ago, and they did not disappoint! With a hugely energetic opener and lots of interaction at the front, Melt Yourself Down had everyone dancing from start to finish. Amazing show!

As we’re halfway through our 4-show-in-a-week-week don’t forget tonight we have Animal Collective’s Avey Tare and his new indie super group his Slasher Flicks at The Green Door Store tonight! Doors are at 7:30pm and support comes from Patten at 8pm. Don’t miss this! People have told us that they’re actually avoiding any videos of live debuts online because they want to be surprised, especially with members of Dirty Projectors and Boredoms thrown in the mix. Tickets on the door are £11.50, or pop into Resident today as there have a handful there.

Finally, tomorrow we have the wonderful Ron Sexsmith at our lovely St George’s Church. Ron brings us his new album Forever Endeavour; Taking inspiration from the likes of Ray Davies, Harry Nilsson, Bing Crosby and Bill Withers, Ron has forged an international reputation over the past two decades second to none, picking up a plethora of awards in the process and we cannot wait to see what he has to offer at St George’s Church. Limited amount of tickets left here!

We also announced another new September show at The Basement! Not only will Jim White be there, but we are thrilled to welcome Black Yaya there, too!

Okay.. “who is Black Yaya?” we hear you cry. Black Yaya is David Ivar, the frontman for Herman Dune! We at Melting Vinyl are big Herman Dune fans so we cannot wait to see what David Ivar, or Black Yaya, brings in his solo stuff. Tickets are on sale now!
