Easter Greetings, April Shows (no showers!) & Glastonbury Favourites!
Can you believe it’s nearly April? Neither can we! Easter is just round the corner and so is Spring (are we allowed to say that without jinxing this crazy weather anymore?) So as we say goodbye to March and look forward to the next few days of stuffing our faces with loads of chocolate, we bring you 4 massive shows coming up in April!
The first is on Wednesday, when Brooklyn dream pop girls TEEN come to Brighton’s The Hope on Queen’s Road. Remember this show has been changed from The Haunt to The Hope and all original tickets are still valid but it is now an 18+ show.
One year after the successful release of their debut album In Limbo, TEEN share Carolina with us! They also announced a five-track EP with the same name, which will be released on May 28, 2013, via Carpark Records. You can have a little listen to Carolina here! Not only will we have the pleasure of seeing these girls on Wednesday, but we also get to see Us Baby Bear Bones, who were announced as support just two days ago! You’ll remember Us Baby Bear Bones back in October when they supported Micachu & The Shapes at Coalition, and their video for You has been playing non stop in the office! Get down at 8pm sharp so you don’t miss out!
On the 13th storming in The Haunt is the mighty Pere Ubu! Making music that is a disorienting mix of midwestern groove rock, “found” sound, analog synthesizers, falling-apart song structures and careening vocals, this is a show not to be missed! Tickets are still available here!
Now this next guy doesn’t need an introduction, the legend behind Orange Juice, Edwyn Collins brings his solo tour for a special show at St George’s Church on the 25th. Tickets for this show are selling fast but there are still some left via Ticketweb so don’t miss out, get yours while you can here!
And finally, we have the wonderful King Creosote at The Basement on the 29th. If you haven’t managed to get a ticket for this, we’re afraid you’re too late as it’s completely sold out!
Now last night the festival that everyone has been waiting for Glastonbury announced it’s lineup, and it is, as usual, brilliant. Headliners include the incredible Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys and Mumford And Sons. Not only them but loads of Melting Vinyl favourite of the past year or so have also been announced! These include The Horrors, The Vaccines, Toro Y Moi, Tim Burgess, Sinead O’Connor, Martha Wainwright and The Staves! Along with Tim Burgess for the Park stage is also Devendra Banhart! Now we have warned you and we’ll warn you again, this show at The Old Market in June IS SELLING REALLY REALLY FAST so get yours really soon! Resident only have a handful left so hurry! Call them on 01273 606312 or go to Ticketweb now!
