March Shows
We have a fantastic mix of shows on offer during March.
If you’re looking for a cozy, laid-back night, Special Friend at The Rossi Bar (March 4th) are a perfect start to the month. Their Franco-American indie noise pop sound will fit the room beautifully, and it’s the kind of show where you might just stumble across your next favourite band. For something a little more hypnotic and unpredictable, TVAM takes over The Hope & Ruin (March 10th) with driving rhythms and synths. And at Komedia, Herman Dune (March 10th) offers warm, story-filled songs that somehow feel both big and personal at the same time. Herman is a defining figure of anti-folk, and will present Odysseús, a musical journey through his tumultuous life.
My Darling Clementine head to the Prince Albert (March 13th) with their mix of country, soul and storytelling, and over at The Greys, Hannah James & Toby Kuhn (March 16th) deliver songs that are full of twists and surprises, slowly pulling you into their world. Hannah and Toby are a dazzling combination. Hannah is an award-winning accordionist, dancer, songwriter and singer, renowned for her work with The Jigdoll Ensemble, Lady Maisery, Seasick Steve, Maddy Prior, Eliza Carthy, Karine Polwart etc. Toby is a globetrotting French cellist whose post-classical, inventive playing combines beautifully with Hannah to create a charismatic, playful chemistry. AS Fanning fills The Folklore Rooms (March 19th) with his immersive sound; Leonard Cohen-esque introspective indie folk-rock and psychedelicia. Soon after, Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman take the stage at Lewes Con Club (March 25th), celebrating their 30th anniversary of making music together.
Later in the month, if you want a night that gets you moving, Lo Fidelity Allstars light up Chalk (March 27th) with their big beat energy. And to close the month off, Pillow take to The Rose Hill (March 31st) with dark, cinematic modern-classical sound, with strings, piano, guitar, synth, and atmospheric touches – the compositions of composer and multi instrumentalist James Osler. This will be a rare full-band performance and a truly memorable way to finish March.
Wherever you find yourself, we hope you’ll join us in supporting live music and the artists who bring these rooms to life.
There’s nothing quite like experiencing a live show.
