We are pleased to announce that Micah P. Hinson will be playing on April 23rd at the Komedia!

Americana musician Micah P. Hinson began his musical experimentation in his late teens when he was living in a small town in Texas. The isolation allowed him to become extremely engaged in the local music scene and in 2003 he teamed up with a musical collective called The Earlies who created the backdrop to his creative music.

In 2004, Hinson released his début album Micah P. Hinson and the Gospel of Progress on Sketchbook Records. The album was critically acclaimed and Hinson was then able to receive even more recognition by being given the opportunity to open up for acts such as Will Oldham, Calexico, and Iron & Wine.

Hinson’s seventh album will be his first release on French label Talitres, and it comprises a collection of songs written before a bad car accident in 2011 that left the future use of Hinson’s arms in question. Hinson decided not to let this hinder him, and instead sent his songs to people all around the world including The Twilight Sad and Texan friend T. Nicholas Phelps. And so came the birth of Micah P. Hinson and the Nothing, without the use of Hinson’s arms!

Don’t miss out on seeing Micah P. Hinson play live in Brighton!
