Melting Vinyl: Bringing the cream of live music to Brighton.

Melting Vinyl are delighted to announce Tamikrest will be performing at Brighton’s Komedia this October!

Tamikrest are a desert blues band who hail from Mali, along the same lines of Tinariwen. Though their music takes root in Ishumar Rock or Tuareg Blues, it borrows from various international influences as well as from neighbouring cultures. They shine a light on the appalling living conditions of the people in the Sahara who are having their land taken by multinational companies.

Through the message of their songs, Tamikrest want to make Tamasheq poetry and culture accessible to inhabitants of a world larger than the immensity of the Saharian desert.

Tamikerest have developed a captivating live show, which has been added to the Latitude line-up, and appearing for the first time at Brighton’s Komedia; this unique blend of inspiring music and strong political message is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the Tamasheq experience.
