South Carolina’s finest purveyor of Chillwave, Toro Y Moi, returns to Brighton for an exclusive show!
Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, 24-year-old Chaz Bundick (aka Toro Y Moi) discovered his now acclaimed sounds of summer through a adolescent diet of French House, Brian’s Wilson’s pop and 80’s RnB.
2010 was Toro Y Moi’s year, with universal critical adoration for his debut, Causers of This, filling many album of the year list. Those who managed to pack into The Hope last July were able to witness something very special indeed!
Joined by a drummer and bassist, Toro Y Moi’s live show draws you into their hazy electronic world and has led to deserved comparisons with the likes of Animal Collective and Ariel Pink.
2011’s follow up, Underneath the Pine, is further proof that Toro Y Moi is a force to be reckoned with, combining cinematic soundscapes, sunblissed vocals and ferocious beats.
