De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill
Marina, Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex TN40 1DP
Icon of the Modernist movement, pioneering arts organisation, People’s Palace – these overlapping and sometimes conflicting roles characterise the De La Warr Pavilion built in 1935 – designed by the architects Erich Mendelsohn and Serge Chermayeff – and re-furbished in 2005 as a national centre for contemporary arts for the south east region and beyond.
