𝗟𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼 offer a minimal yet dramatic soundscape of synths and electronic percussion driven by finger-picked guitar and gritty cello playing.

It’s hard not to feel seen by Lemoncello, a band whose live performances and recordings shimmer with the tones of modern Ireland. 'Perfect Place', evolves from the band’s folk-soaked roots and confidently explores intricate new shapes. Marking a bold new chapter for singer-songwriter Laura Quirke & cellist-arranger Claire Kinsella, Perfect Place' is imbued with assuredness, featuring full-band recordings that weave synths and electronic percussion into the band’s staple organic sound.

Live, they cultivate a sense of consolation that leaves audiences forgetting there’s a world outside of the venue. Lemoncello’s 'Perfect Place' is equally familiar and confronting, driven by the palpable chemistry of a long-term friendship.

𝗙𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗯𝘂𝗿𝘆 is a singer and songwriter from Manchester. Her sound comes from the local Irish traditional folk scene she grew up in, and the jazz music she found a love for later on. Her recordings of traditional folk songs, made with the help of Michael McGoldrick, have been played on BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Radio 2's Folk Show.

Jim White + Ben de la Cour @bendelacoursucks play Komedia (Studio) @komedia_brighton Brighton on Tuesday 4th May.

𝗝𝗶𝗺 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 gets around. When he’s not releasing his own critically acclaimed solo albums, he splits his time producing records for other artists, exhibiting his visual art in galleries and museums across the US and Europe and publishing award-winning fiction.

Numerous songs from White’s back catalogue have appeared in film and television, with his Primus-esque Word-Mule being featured in the Heisenberg Episode of Breaking Bad, while more recently Jim’s dreamy duet with Aimee Mann, Static on the Radio, graced the closing credits of the feature film El Camino.

Americana music fans may recognise White as the narrator and de facto tour guide for the award-winning BBC documentary, Searching for the Wrong Eyed Jesus, a road movie set in the rural South which the LA Times described as “Decidedly strange, delightfully demented.” Released in 2003, the film has attained cult status among Southern Gothic fans far and wide.

Prior to becoming a musician, White led an aimless, diverse life, working countless menial labour jobs. It was during a psychological spiral that White crossed paths with David Byrne, who promptly signed White to a record deal.

Over the ensuing twenty years, there followed a succession of critically acclaimed solo records, appearances on major network shows like Letterman and Conan, and several offbeat side-project releases (Hellwood, Mama Lucky, Sounds of the Americans).

A natural storyteller, 𝗕𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗹𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿’s visceral songwriting grabs you by the heart and doesn’t let go. Weaving evocative stories of desperate characters with his signature 'Americanoir' sound, de la Cour shines a glaring light on the human condition. De la Cour’s gothic folk songs are as heartbreaking as they are beautiful.

Kris and Cahalen are the ultimate ‘musician’s musicians’ who draw from diverse musical backgrounds but are friends and kindred spirits in their subtle instrumental mastery, evocative songwriting and innovative musicality.

In the wake of three critically acclaimed records on Sub Pop, minimalist lo-fi auteur Lael Neale announces 𝘈𝘴 𝘒𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘋𝘰, the inaugural self-release under her new imprint Consensual Sound, due November 20th, 2026.

Recorded in the kitchen of a bungalow in Echo Park, Los Angeles, with a Tascam cassette 8-track machine, 𝘈𝘴 𝘒𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘋𝘰 is Neale’s fourth collaboration with Guy Blakeslee and stays true to the duo’s commitment to minimalism and the raw immediacy and hand-made intimacy of home recording. Totalling a mere 28 minutes, the ten songs on the record offer up a variety of sonic worlds, from echoes of LA’s Paisley Underground and 60’s girl group sha-la-las, to metaphysical proto-punk, timeless outsider folk and Surrealist psych-pop.

A brilliant lyricist, Neale has a unique ability to uncover the extraordinary within the mundane. As Killers Do showcases her ever-evolving crystalline vocal mastery and razor-sharp insights into the human condition.

Born and raised in Virginia’s idyllic countryside, Neale brought the high-lonesome sound of her home state with her when she moved to California to pursue music.

Penguin Cafe was founded by Arthur Jeffes in 2009, bringing together a talented and disparate group of musicians initially to perform his father Simon Jeffes’ legacy of world-renowned PCO music, ten years after his untimely death in 1997. Arthur, a talented composer in his own right, quickly began to create new and unique genre-defying music, blending classical instruments like violins and cellos with unexpected elements like ukuleles and melodicas, the spellbinding philosophy of the Penguin Cafe always in his mind.

Penguin Cafe have released five studio albums of original music, four of which are released on Erased Tapes Records.

The current show ‘Penguin Cafe performs Music from the Penguin Cafe Orchestra’ pays homage to the original PCO music featuring performances of classic compositions that have been captivating listeners for decades. Audiences can expect to hear beloved works like ‘Music from a Found Harmonium’ and ‘Perpetuum Mobile’ delivered with the ensemble’s signature warmth and inventiveness. This tour not only celebrates the enduring legacy of the Penguin Cafe Orchestra but also showcases the continued evolution of their sound under Arthur Jeffes direction. To commemorate the tour Universal Music has re-released all of the original PCO albums on limited edition Vinyl, and the original iconic PCO album cover paintings by Emily Young are available to own as limited edition art prints for the first time.

Outside of Penguin Cafe, Arthur’s composition work has included several shorts and commissions. He worked with Greenpeace and Aardman Animations to compose the soundtrack for Turtle Journey, released in 2020 to high acclaim, to promote the Greenpeace ‘Protect the Ocean’ campaign.

𝗝𝗲𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗣𝗼𝗻𝘆 are a mix of post-punk and power pop, featuring Beth Arzy (The Luxembourg Signal/Trembling Blue Stars) on vocals and percussion, Shaun Charman (original drummer of The Wedding Present/The Popguns) on guitar and vocals, Kerry Boettcher on bass and vocals, Mark Matthews (The Dentists) on guitar, and Tom Levesley on drums.

The band has released five 7-inch singles, two EPs, and two LPs, including last year’s acclaimed ‘Bowerbirds and Blue Things’, praised for its variety and development, which features a track with lead vocals by Eleni Poulou (The Fall). The most recent release is a 10″ vinyl version of their very well-received live session for the Riley & Coe show on BBC6 Music.

All releases have received enthusiastic reviews and radio play worldwide. The band have played across Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Norway and the UK. This will be the band’s first gig back in Brighton for 18 months!

𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 is an art-pop band from London. New album ‘International Dust’ is out on Lost Map Records in October.

Their status and fast-growing fan base are a testament not only to the pair’s prowess as songwriters and musicians, but as people, too.
